McFaulds Lake Project

Jeremy Niemi, Vice President, Geology for Noront Resources is the qualified person who prepared or supervised the preparation of the scientific and technical information disclosed herein.

Project Summary

Our McFaulds Lake Project is located in the highly prospective Ring of Fire multi metals district in the James Bay lowlands of northern Ontario. With over 117,000 hectares of mineral claims, Noront is one of, if not the largest landholders in this exiting new exploration district.

Ring Of Fire Location Map

In August 2007, this remote area, lacking infrastructure, void of outcrop, yielded one of the most exciting drill holes in Canadian history, heralding the discovery of our Eagle's Nest discovery. Since our initial discovery Noront has invested more than $65 million in exploration, leading to the discovery of the Blackbird chromite deposit, the Eagle Two and AT12 Anomaly nickel-copper-PGE targets, the Thunderbird vanadium target and the JJJ gold target. These six, diverse mineral discoveries within a 30 month period demonstrate the robust nature of this mineral district.

We have contracted some of Canada's leading geologists and geophysicists, to review our data and provide their analysis. Many of these individuals have worked in and been involved with, some of the most significant Canadian discoveries in the last decade, including: Sudbury, Voisey's Bay, Raglan and Thompson. It is here that our extensive core library provides a unique benefit as it provides vital geological data to accompany the geophysical data and improve the interpretation. This process has identified numerous, untested targets within our existing land package that we plan on examining during our 2010 exploration program.
