Noront Resources Ltd. (“Noront”) reports that it has contracted for two diamond drills to be utilized on the Company’s 100% owned Windfall Lake project and on the property optioned from Murgor Resources Inc. (MUG-V) and Freewest Resources Canada Inc. (FWR-V) (Murgor/Freewest) adjoining the Company’s Windfall Lake project commencing this month and anticipated to continue to years end.
A deep diamond drill program consisting of 10,000 to 20,000 meters proposed by Tracy Armstrong of P & E Mining Consultants Inc., will test the mineralization at depths to 1000 meters plus a second drill will be used to further delineate several known shallow gold mineralized zones outlined in previous drilling on the Murgor/Freewest optioned property as well as on Noront’s wholly owned Windfall Lake property. Additionally, this second drill will be used to assist in the location of the proposed exploration ramp which will commence as soon as the Company is in receipt of all proper permitting which is expected later this summer.
Tenders will be let with respect to the contracting of the proposed ramp shortly.
The Company is currently making all necessary repairs to all access roads due to winter damage as well as preparing and enlarging the Company’s exploration camp facilities.
The proposed deep drill program is scheduled to commence on or before May 15th and the second drill on or before May 21st, 2007.
