Eagle’s Nest is currently in the permitting phase.
On September 4, 2012, Noront released the results of the Eagle’s Nest Feasibility Study which is currently being updated to reflect minor Project design changes, current metal prices and to account for inflation.
On December 20, 2013, Noront issued an Eagle’s Nest Draft Environmental Impact Statement and Environmental Assessment (EIS/EA) for comment. Meantime, Project consultation and engagement is continuing. Please see the Environmental Assessment (EA) section for the full EIS/EA Report.
In June 2015, Noront received it’s Approved Terms of Reference for the Environmental Assessment of Eagle’s Nest from the Provincial Ministry of Environment and Climate Change. Over the next several months, the Company will be completing work on a series of amendments to the EA in order to gain project approval.
We are also in a working partnership with Matawa’s Kiikenomaga Kikenjigewen Employment and Training Services (KKETS), Confederation College of Applied Arts and Technology in Thunder Bay and the Federal government to provide local workforce training through the Ring of Fire Aboriginal Training Alliance (RoFATA).
